I needed a Graduation card for my cousin - she graduated high school and is headed to college in the fall. Thought butterflies would make for a cute card. This uses the new butterfly punch - super easy to use and it matches up with the Flight of the Butterfly set perfectly!

Okay, so this stamp set has been hanging out with me for a while and I keep forgetting I have it. Not because it isn't a great set but because I always want to play with my new stamps and somehow neglect the older ones. :) I had a great time making these - the first one is super versatile! If you don't like the Sage color you can switch it to a light blue, purple, orange, even pink.

You can just faintly see the dry embossed background on the Apricot card - that's from the new Texture Plates - super easy and it looks great in person!

Thought I would share with you a couple of cards that I made using the new Circle Circus stamp set and one of the new in colors, Soft Suede. I like this color combo as well - it can be masculine, which is a harder card to make in my opinion. I don't know many guys that like glitter or ribbon and since these cards somehow don't have either I think they might fit the bill.

Love Notes

I thought I would show you the set of four love notes that I made a while back. Seriously thought that I had posted them on the blog but somehow forgot. :)

These are all 3x3 and fit into the small envelopes. Pretty sure that the post office wouldn't take them as regular mail but you could add them to a package or even put them with a bottle of wine.

The main point I want to make with these is that they are VERY EASY TO MAKE. No, really - easy to make. The hardest part for me was deciding which of the images I was going to use. I'll probably make more of them after a bit, but we'll see.

Oh yeah - if you're thinking about becoming a demonstrator - this is one of the stamp sets that comes with the regular starter kit. You can see just how versatile this set is!

I absolutely LOVE the Movers & Shapers die for the Big Shot!!! But then, just when I thought I couldn't love it any more SU came out with more shapes that you can cut out - AND THEY MATCH THE PUNCHES!!!! I mean, really, how amazing is that!?! I made these cards a couple of weeks back and hadn't uploaded them to show you all how darned cute they are. The other nice thing is that you can keep and later use the punched out piece. It's just an oomph larger than the punches so it makes for a nice layer. :)

So, I got out my retired Designer Paper and colors and decided to whip up a couple of cards. All you have to do is switch the colors and papers around and voila - a new card. :) So, really it's all about the layout today.

I'm sorry I've been a little quiet lately - my sister's getting married next month so things are a tad crazy with making her programs and such. I'll post a picture of the completed programs in the coming weeks.

So, I really liked this idea to give a card with cards inside of it. Confused? Don't be - the close-ups are below. :) We "lined" each of the envelopes (3 total) with DSP so that it would be jazzed up a bit and also match the outer part of the card. Easy!

Thought I would share with you the super cute (and very easy to make) boxes using the Matchbox die. The die is new in the Occassions Mini catalog (April 1 to June 30). I'm thinking that it will make wedding favors for my sister's wedding, but we'll see what she thinks. :) Even the tags were made with the die - it's amazing!!!!

I thought I would share a picture from last weekend's St. Patrick's Day Dash. It was snowing, then raining during the race so I didn't have my best time but I had a 9:59 per mile pace (not bad for 3 3/4 miles in the rain!). This picture was taken at the end of the race, right before the finish line and I was sooo ready for some dry clothes and warm food it wasn't even funny. :)

Little Boxes

I absolutely love the Big Shot!!!! It's such a wonderful product and it is amazing when you have to make a box or project really quickly. I made these two boxes in a matter of minutes and they're super cute too!

The first one we made at my Big Shot class last weekend and the second one is what I made to put my cousin's birthday present in. (much better than wrapping paper in my opinion). The boxes aren't very big, but it worked perfectly for what I gave her. :)

Moonlit Flower

So I thought I would show you a different technique called Masking. Well, truth be told, there's sponging in there too, so it's Masking and Sponging. :)

I punched a circle out of a post-it (on the sticky spot), stuck it to my card and then sponged different colors (starting with light and gradually going darker). This really has such a nice effect and it's really easy. The even better part about this card is that it doesn't have any lumps or bumps so it is perfect for sending through the mail. (The post office has been getting picky about my lumps and bumps.)

So, I have been slacking lately....the new ideas just haven't been there, but I'm hoping that will change soon! :-)

It's been snowing a bunch in Seattle and that creates a huge mess! I've walked to work twice and it looks like that might be my main mode of transportation for the next week. Fun for sure!

Hi all! Here's another two of my Christmas cards. I really like these but I don't think I'll be mass producing them as they're pretty time consuming. But they're still really pretty! They both use Big on Christmas as the main focal image - very fun to play with for sure! To get the glitter to really stick I mixed some crystal effects, glitter, and some dots of ink refill - then I had a glittery paste - super easy!

Snow Burst

It's absolutely gorgeous here - feels a little like fall but the temperature is still warm. The leaves are falling and it's sooo nice! :-)

Here's another Christmas card idea - this one is pretty nice, super simple but also really pretty. You could even add some glitter to give it some pizzaz. I find that whenever I use my glitter I have it all over myself, so I try to use it on the weekends only and on more than one card. I figure if I'm making a mess I might as well make a big one.

The saying is punched out with a Key Tag Punch and the layer on this one is the same punch, punched many times and then layered behind the image. It's really simple and it gives the card such a nice effect.

Happy Wednesday! Thought this card was a little different and fun, it has the traditional colors, but just a little different tones of them. On another note, it's supposed to be a gorgeous day in Seattle, maybe I'll get to walk around this afternoon and enjoy the fall weather.

As you can see, the tree image and the three little poinsettias look a little different. that's because they're cut out (with scissors and the circle punch) and then popped up on dimensionals. I really like this look - makes it look more "done" and not so blah. :-)

I am absolutely in LOVE with this set! It creates such beautiful cards and it's super easy! For all of these cards I inked the entire image in the lighter ink and then took a sponge dauber in the darker ink and just touched the image where I wanted the highlighting. Very easy and fun to see what you come up with for color combos and where exactly the image will have both colors.

Morning all! Thought you might enjoy some of my fun watercolor crayon projects using the my free set from convention - Inspired by Nature. I didn't really care for this set at first but it's really growing on me! For the flower cards I used my watercolor crayons and colored directly on the image and then spritzed it with water before stamping - super duper fun! I really need to use this technique more frequently!

Hello all of you wonderful readers! Happy Friday to you!!! Below are two of my cards that focus on some of our amazing accessories. They feature the chipboard, rub-ons, ribbon and Designer Series Paper. I thought it might be time to showcase some cards that use little to no stamping - and they're super quick to put together!

The first card has a chocolate rub-on from the Hidden Garden set (with the old olive marker coloring in the center of it), a piece of chipboard from the On Board Something Seasonal (this was sponge daubered with chocolate chip ink to color it), and a strip of the Patterns Designer Series Paper in Chocolate Chip. Love it!!!

For my 100th post I thought I would show you many different cards - all using the same main stamp set. The set is Flower Fancy and is a new 2-step stampin' set. It's awesome and there's so much you can do with it!!!!! These are the cards that I have made with it, but I anticipate many more to come!

This first card is from the swap I joined, quick and easy layout!

This card was just a "turn" on the colors. Same style, layout, just different colors. The main image color was achieved by accidentally not cleaning off the stamp enough from the previous card. So it's a little Riding Hood Red and a little Almost Amethyst. :-)

Mom needed a sympathy card so I made this one. The sentiment is retired, but it's the best sympathy stamp that I have seen in quite a while so I'm still showing it the love.

Loving this one!!! It uses some of the Designer Paper from the Summer Picnic Pack - looks great! The wonderful thing about this card is that you can really change up the sentiment to anything. In fact, I made about 5 of these and have different sayings on each. Very versatile!

I thought I would show on this one that your 2nd step of the stamping (the chocolate outline) doesn't have to be perfectly lined up for the card to look good. This also uses more of the Summer Picnic Designer Paper.

I really wanted to play with the new scalloped edge punch and the new square scallop punch, so this is the end result. Not my favorite but it's pretty neat anyway.

Third Swap Card....

Yeah, I really did join a big swap - but it was a blast and the cards I got back were amazing!!!

The main image uses a technique that I learned at convention. You ink the entire image in the Tangerine Tango, then take a blender pen and "wipe off" the Tangerine from where you want the chocolate chip. Then you take your chocolate chip marker and add the color back in. Before you press the rubber to the paper you breathe on the image in order to make sure that the ink is wet again. Actually pretty easy and it allows you to get colors that you wouldn't normally (especially the in-colors because markers don't come in those colors).

I'm a glutton for punishment and decided to join another swap. I really like that I get some neat ideas that I probably wouldn't have come up with on my own. So, here's the first of my swap cards. I really like this one and have added the second picture so you can see the detail on the butterfly. I used the Crystal Effects on the butterfly to add some "pop" to it. There is also some of the Pink Pirouette sponged around the Thank You. Thought it would add a little fun. Thanks for looking!!

Happy Friday everybody!!!

Attached are my cards that I made from the 80's night challenge. Such a fun night!! We brought the free sets we got from convention and used those for the challenge. It's always fun to use your new rubber!

This first card is a technique challenge using the ghosting technique and is super duper easy! We could only use Pacific Point and Baja Breeze with our Glossy Cardstock.

Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Inspired by Nature

Ink: Versamark, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze

Cardstock: Pacific Point, Glossy White

Accessories: Brayer, Sponges, Ribbon

This card was a color challenge and we could use Black, Pixie Pink, Turquoise and Gable Green. Not 100% sure if I like what I came up with but it was doable.

Wedding Card for Hannah

My friend Hannah had her bridal shower a couple of weekends ago and I was in need of a girlie card to go with the gifts. I don't get an opportunity to really pull this set out much so I'm very happy that I was able to use it and that the end result was beautiful! I used my markers and aquapainter to get the really light coloring on the main image. The dress and veil are lightly colored with the Pretty in Pink so that they would still stand out from the background - especially after adding the glitter!

Cardstock: Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Naturals White
